Sustainable Food for Better Life

According to Abraham Maslow, humans have five needs. Physiological, Safety, Love / Belonging, Esteem, Self-actualization. And the most basic and fundamental, is physiological, which are :

  • Good Air to Breathe
  • Clean Water to Drink
  • Healthy Food to Eat

This three basic needs are metabolic requirements for survival. If the requirements not met, the body cannot function properly and will ultimately fail. So yes, it is the most important needs that every living creatures must fulfill, without exception.

Based on that facts, my husband and I working on something to ensure the availability of it.

How do we do that?

We build a greenhouse in front of our house. It’s not big, but it’s enough for us to plant vegetables we need. Many type of lettuces, kales, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, and microgreens. And now we have some herbs in it, too! Basils, mints, rosemaries, dills, cilantros, oreganos and thymes. I used them all very often, and sometimes I give it away to neighbors. They love it! 😀

Does it work for us?

Sure it does! 3-4 times a week, I harvest some of my plants. Mix it with salads, make some juice with it, and so on. Now I have so much Basil I want to turn into pesto. Do you want some? 😀

The best part I love from growing our food is, I always get the best quality! It’s always freshly picked early in the morning, right after the dew disappear. The herbs are still having powerful scents, y’know! It makes me an addict. Like a drug addict, but it herbs addict. Hahah!

Should you do it too?

You can try it, and don’t blame me if you’re turning like an addict like me. Yes, it’s very addictive. Want to try the easiest way to plant your herbs hydroponically? Try this kit. It’s from Tanibox, a new startup I found with my husband. We want to bring people foods that is good for their body and also good for the nature.
